On the home page we alluded to a functional definition of Commercial Literacy as including Literacy in General Business, Accounting / Finance, Technology and Organization.
We also however referred to Commerce in relation to Energy and Energy as that which enlivens the world.
That includes humans and humanity too.
We believe our model for education is a Whole Life Learning System.
It is one that can include many other important things such as Mental, Emotional and Physical Health and studies into Personal Satisfaction. These are topics people don't currently associate with Commercial Education that actually fit in perfectly with a little thought.
To understand where those are in this system we need to provide a more granular introduction to the "General Business Literacy" framework.
In our General Business Literacy framework, 80% of Business is Just Business and 20% is a persons ability to communicate and the individual skills and trades they seek to ply for making money.
The 80% of business that's just business is easy to remember with an acronym, FAMMMSOIT/bELS, and that correlates to:
Finance
Accounting
Management
Marketing
Management Science
Operations and Information Technology
Business Ethics, Legal and Strategy
The 20% of Business that is more unique to an individual is related to their ability to communicate about who they are and what they are doing, in concert with the skills and/or products they are seeking to share with others.
Our view of Management starts with "Personal Management". You can't hope to manage others if you can't manage yourself. This is where the Mental, Emotional and Physical Care components can be introduced. This is where Nutritional Education and Shamanic Healing techniques are combined with modern health care technology that can supplement those properly.
Our view of Marketing starts with Marketing ones-self. This is where Self Image and an introduction to learning how to sell one's self properly comes into play.
Communication Skills that are included in the other 20% include not only verbal and written skills, but also the skills of listening, observation, intuition and many other soft skills that most do not include in a business setting. The art of Meditation may find it's way in here or elsewhere too, for the benefits it can bring.
With this model it's easier to see where and how the financial and occupational parts of a life affect the rest of Life, but in a balanced way that shows no part can be more or less important than another if a smooth motion through life is desired...
We believe we have many ways to help others affect their own lives.
